Jack Dempsey's Guide to Championship Boxing

Jack Dempsey is one of boxings all time greats. He wrote a book on boxing. The main focus of the book is on punching. This is what he starts off with before teaching the beginner anything else. Punching is the most important element in a fight. All too sad is that not enough trainers teach their students how to punch.

The most important part of a punch is to put your body weight behind so you hit with more force. The falling step has you step forward with your left foot and launch your jab a the same time. The line of power extends in a line all the way to you’s bottom two knuckles. There are several types of punches in boxing. There’s jabs, shovel, upper cuts and hooks. He explains step by step how to launch those punches along with good illustration on how to launch those punches. There is a section on footwork cause remember footwork is just as crucial to the success of a boxer as is punching.

In boxing there are several ways to defend against a punch. The most effective way is evading . When a punch is coming the boxer somehow moves out of the way. There is ducking , bobbing and weaving and slipping. Most beginner start with blocking. Blocking is done with the hand, forearm and even shoulders. The second most effective defense is parrying or redirecting the punch.

Finally at the end there are exercises to improve your stamina and physical shape. A good easy to read classic on boxing. Coming from a real old fashioned fighter this book is worth it.

Divine Energy

Energy is required to build things and get stuff accomplished. Energy is needed to live, eat, and breathe. Many of us try to acquire energy to do more things and make accomplishments by improving our nutrition or imbibing caffeinated beverages. But nutrition is not the true source of our energy. The true source of our energy is God or as others call him Allah, Jesus, and a slew of other names. Since this book was written by a rabbi, they tend to call God as Hashem. Hashem literally means the name. So, the divine is our source of energy.

God gives us energy by shining divine light down on the earth. There are times when Hashem brings down some extra energy for people to accomplish something massive. When this energy is present then people can accomplish all sorts of things. The trick is to use it wisely. The author uses the Holocaust as an example. Hashem sent down extra energy so the Jewish people could end their exile. Instead the Jewish people used their energy to sin more and become assimilated. Since the energy was not used wisely the enemies of the Jewish people used it against them.
There are ways to access this energy. The way to do it is through doing things like mitzvot which basically translated as commandments. Good deeds and prayer. The author elucidates several other topics in this concise 47 page book. He instructs the reader on the four levels of Torah study and the different emanations of manifestation.
Our soul is who we are it is the soul made of light that receives divine energy. The body we inhabit which is a vehicle to move in this world inhibits that light. The author gave a good lesson on empaths, those individuals who feel what we feel. They are sensitive to energy.
This book is highly recommended if you are into metaphysics, Judaism or just metaphysical Judaism

Where are We From?

In school we were taught that man evolved on this planet and was descended from hominids. The first human appear around 100 thousand to 300 thousand years ago and it was not only 10 to 12 thousand years ago that we began making civilizations. All that’s sounds really good but.....

If man evolved on this planet first from apes and then later from hominids like homo erectus and homo hibilis then that would mean our entire evolution happened on this planet that we should be so well adapted that we should not have the sicknesses that we have. The author states that humans are too fragile for like on earth and that we are the least well suited organisms to survive. We have sickness that the other animals do not have. We have higher rates of cancer, and other sicknesses that other animals do not seem to have. Our skull shape is different than tha of other hominids. They also have thick eyebrows to protect them from the sun. Other animals have a membrane that protects their eyes from the sun but we humans do not have them.

Archaeology is finding anomalies that are throwing the timeline askew. Artififacts like tin cups or hammers are found buried in rock formations millions of years old or at least before mankind was know to exist either on earth or in that area. In other words the archaeology is older than mankind. How can that be and how did it get there? Good question.

Dr. Ellis Silver seems to believe that aliens deposited us here on this planet at different intervals over time. Some of the population made it and some did not. His speculate that they may have put us here as part of a prison planet. Or they were putting us here because there planet was dying or it was an experiment. Not sure if I buy the whole alien theory. I mean why would they go to the trouble to alter our genes so we could live her especially if this was a prison planet?

HE also believes that our government is working with different types of aliens and that so0me species maybe harmful to us while others are beneficial.

The theory has some strong points. The universe or space is too large for there not to be life on other planets. High probability they checked our planet out. But them creating us or splicing our genes or having them work with our governments then where is the proof? No smoking gun.

True we are more fragile than most animals but there are animals who get sunburned, get cancer and experience some of our other ailments. Do not think that is extraterrestrial .b Interesting theory but I have to say no dice.
